Join us in honoring the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during our MLK Weekend Serve events on Saturday, January 17, for an informational meeting about our Foster Adopt Care Communities at Resurrection Leawood. Research shows that support from a Care Community dramatically improves the retention rate of foster families caring for vulnerable children. Imagine helping foster parents serve from a place of abundance instead of exhaustion! Come learn about being part of a Care Community, a small group of 6-8 people who provide wraparound care for a foster family in creative ways (e.g., providing a meal, doing a load of laundry, walking a dog, building a swing set, or any other task that will lighten the load for these families who are giving so much). Attending this meeting is not a commitment to join a Care Community, but a chance to get more information! You do not need to have an established group to attend the meeting.
