Cultural Competency Training

Join us as we grow together in our mission to develop cultural awareness and acceptance for all our neighbors. Cultural Competency, a community volunteer training, is a prerequisite for engaging in our ongoing KC Mission programs. This valuable training is designed to foster a welcoming and secure environment for everyone we support. By participating, individuals will gain empowerment, education and foster a deeper understanding of our diverse community, enhancing cross-cultural interactions.

Cultural Competency is a required training designed to prepare volunteers to serve with grace, humility, and awareness in settings that may differ from their everyday experiences. Through four short modules, the course builds understanding of how culture, history, and life experiences shape individuals and communities—helping volunteers serve more confidently and compassionately. Upon completion, you’ll be ready to take your next step into meaningful service in the community.

Instructions:

The training will take 2 hours to complete. You have 10 days to finish the training. If you don’t complete it within that time, you’ll need to start over—but don’t worry, the pace is manageable and the lessons are clear!

This interactive training includes four video lessons designed to give you the knowledge you need. 

To successfully complete the course, you’ll need to watch each video from start to finish and complete a quiz after each video.
